“Building a LA Practice-based Research Network: The Fusion of Science and Practice”

Practice-based Research Networks (PBRNs) are central to the the research infrastructures in many medical schools. They have not flourished in mental health. We will discuss strategies for the successful development of the Recovery Oriented Care Collaborative (ROCC), a PBRN in Los Angeles focused on integrated care.   The ROCC includes four large mental health agencies in LA that serve over 200,000 people with serious mental illness. It has become a vehicle for improving practice by fusing practice and research.
